We teach a variety of both California State Fire Training and Industry Confined Space Rescue training programs. Some of our Industry training programs are offered at variable course hours, with the curriculum and length of course customized to meet industry-specific compliance measures and site-specific needs.

California State Fire Training Confined Space Rescue Awareness

This course provides instruction in identifying permit and non-permit required confined spaces, the hazards associated with confined spaces, target industries and hazards, state regulations, communications, and equipment requirements. This course does not qualify participants to make permit-required entries.

Length: 8 hours

Industry Confined Space Entry and Rescue Awareness

This course provides instruction in identifying permit and non-permit required confined spaces, the hazards associated with confined spaces, target industries and hazards, state regulations, communications, and equipment requirements. Course content is customized to meet specific industry needs. An optional hands-on skills training portion can be included in the 8-hour program (4 classroom hours and 4 hands-on hours).

Length: 4 or 8 hours

Industry Confined Space Entry and Rescue Operations

This course includes both classroom and hands-on skills training and provides instruction in identifying permit and non-permit required confined spaces, the hazards associated with confined spaces, target industries and hazards, state regulations, communications, and equipment requirements. Course content is customized to meet specific industry needs. The Operations course provides participants with more opportunity for skills training and scenarios.

Length: 16, 24 or 32 hours

California State Fire Training Confined Space Rescue Technician

This course is an intensive hands-on training program that will prepare you to respond to confined space emergencies. This course of instruction prepares the student in identifying confined spaces and permit-required confined spaces, the hazards associated with permit-required confined spaces, target industries and hazards, state and federal regulations, components of a rescue operation, and the roles and responsibilities of the rescue team.

Length: 40 hours

Prerequisite:  Confined Space Rescue Awareness

Industry Confined Space and Rescue Technician

This course is an intensive hands-on training program that will prepare you to respond to confined space emergencies. This course of instruction prepares the student in identifying confined spaces and permit-required confined spaces, the hazards associated with permit-required confined spaces, target industries and hazards, state and federal regulations, components of a rescue operation, and the roles and responsibilities of the rescue team. This course is taught at industry-hosted locations using real permit spaces for rescue scenarios.

Length: 40 hours

Student Required Safety Gear

Instructors will provide all course materials. The following includes a generalized list of Required Safety Gear that participants should bring (actual list dependent on length and type of course and will be provided by office personnel):

Eye Protection, Rescue Helmet, Rescue Gloves, Headlamp, Safety Boots, Long Sleeve Protection, BDU Pants, Flashlight, Knee Pads/Elbow Pads, Sun Block, Water Bottle, and SCBA with Spare Bottle.
